What to Expect...
First of all, Welcome. We hope you will come worship the Lord and grow with us. If you have any further questions, please contact us as landerefree@gmail.com or (307) 332-6767.
Where are you located & how do I enter the building?
We are located just outside of Lander on Hwy 287 heading toward Ft. Washakie (Our building is a 2 story wooden building on the left hand side of the road). Turn into our gravel drive, park and enter through the front door. There you will be greeted and offered a bulletin. From there you go into the main room and find a seat. There is also seating available in the balcony (just up the stairs when you enter.) Make yourself comfortable. Before the sermon, there will be announcements running on the projector.
What is the Worship service like?
Our worship service starts at 10:10 am. The service consist of preparation for worship (welcome, announcements, prayer & a short greeting/fellowship time), offering & special music, praise time (praise choruses & hymns) and teaching time (sermon). We believe in praising and worshipping the Lord for the Awesome God that He is but we are not a "charismatic" church.
We have a Communion service on the first Sunday of each month for believers and a Fellowship Sunday the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of a month with cookies & drinks after church.
What should I wear? People generally wear anything from jeans/shorts to office casual to dressed up.
What about my kids?
At 8:45 am we have Sunday School classes for all ages (adults too). We use are David C. Cook, Gospel Light & Funshine Express curriculum. We also have a Sunday School nursery for ages birth-24 months.
During the worship service...We have a nursery available for ages birth-3 and we provide a Children's Church for children ages 3 through the end of 2nd grade. They are dismissed prior to the sermon. For families that like to keep their children with them the whole service, we have Busy bags for the younger children and Treasure Seekers for the older children (located under the stairs in the foyer).
Awana clubs (ages K-6th grade) meet on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 pm during the school year.
Youth Group meets on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:45 pm. Middle School & High School Students are invited.
All of our children's workers have undergone a background screening including fingerprinting to ensure the safety of your children.
What kind of Church are you? Our church is a Bible believing family that loves God and wants to share God's love with others. We believe in praising and worshipping the Lord for the Awesome God that He is but we are not a "charismatic" church. We are an Evangelical Free church. Evangelical means that we are committed to sharing the good news (Jesus Christ can save you and change you) and that we believe the Bible is a true, inerrant and trustworthy guide to living our lives to glorify God. Free refers to our form of church government, which assures that our local church body is free from a central controlling body. The Evangelical Free Church of Lander is elder led and depends on the active participation of all of our people in the decisions and direction of our church.
EFCA Statement of Faith
Will I have to say anything, sign anything or be singled out?
We do have a short greeting time during the service but we don't hound you, we would just like to say Hi and welcome. There is also a friendship register to sign. Sign it if you would like and we will send you a welcome letter and more information. If you don't want to sign the register that is alright with us. We won't ask you to stand up, give a greeting to the church or anything like that.
